- Research shows approximately 72% of Americans overestimate the cost of life insurance
- Only 51% of American adults say they have some form of life insurance coverage
- 47% of American families say they would have trouble paying living expenses following the death of a wage earner
- 40% of adults say their family would not be financially secure should a wage earner die unexpectedly
- Only 29% of consumers feel they are knowledgeable about life insurance
