I recently came across the article in the link below and thought how appropriate for Life Insurance Awareness Month. My father was recruited into the insurance industry in 1975 by insurance icons John F. Savage and his partner at the time, Ben Feldman. My father would tell me stories of how he literally carried their bags onto the plane for them as they took him along on their trips around the northeast coaching advisors and agents on the sale of life insurance in their practices using Feldman’s concept of Selling Dollars for Pennies. I was brought up in this business with an early understanding of how life insurance is one of the core building blocks of a solid financial plan. Many advisors today focus solely on their clients’ investment accounts, helping them save and prepare for retirement. Too often, however, the Protection piece of that financial is overlooked – that being the life insurance policy that ensures the plan is completed in the event of an untimely death of one of the participants. Additionally, there are many uses / needs for life insurance policies in business arrangements, estate planning, charitable gifting, additional savings plans, etc. While the industry has evolved with various new products, tax codes, underwriting, etc., the core principle remains – life insurance is a fundamental tool in many planning environments. Take a look through your clientele, ask them when the last time was someone reviewed their life insurance plans, and then give the experts at Wholehan Marketing a call and let us help you put the right life insurance coverage in place for your clients.
